Hi, I’m Emil, welcome to JDMSMOKE!
JDMSMOKE is made up of car enthusiasts, especially those with a sweet tooth for Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles, engines, drivetrains, and culture. Our purpose is to share with you our knowledge in order to open up this amazing car culture to more enthusiast.
My name is Emil, the founder of JDMSMOKE and I’ve been obsessed with cars ever since I was just a few years old. I remember looking at the speedometer of all the cars I got into, to see how high it went, as for some reason, I figured having a higher speedometer meant the car would be faster (which is not always the case, especially for JDM cars). At six years old I got a Motorcross, a Yamaha PW80 – and I was completely hooked on everything that involved wheels and engines. The release of video games like Gran Turismo and Need for Speed, as well as the movie franchise Fast and Furious brought my attention to JDM cars (though I didn’t know that at the time). The rest is history.
After attending countless car meets, I started to notice a trend. Every time I visited a JDM-only car meet there was a different aura. Most of the time people were nicer and more appreciative of each other. Most cars we’re completely unique, and in many cases, there were cars that you didn’t even know existed. I started out being interested in the cars, but I found out that the culture surrounding JDM was equally interesting.
I wish to share with you what I’ve learned through the years. And hopefully, I can teach you something that you didn’t know beforehand, perhaps I might even get some people to adopt this incredible car culture which is JDM.
